Eric Ventrou presented a 2-year-old colt by Intello (Ger), and the flashy bay brought a sale-topping bid of €49,000 from Mandore International and Stephane Wattel during Thursday's Osarus Breeze-Up Sale in the south-west of France.
The May 7 foal is a half-brother to listed winner Zarwaan (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}), while second dam Dublino (Lear Fan) won the GI Del Mar Oaks and produced stakes winner Answered (GB) (Authorized {GB}), who was placed three times at group level.
Just below lot 42, was an M. C. Thoroughbreds-consigned filly by Night Of Thunder (Ire). Sold as lot 26, the bay brought €46,000 from Etreham Exclusive. Out of the winning mare Zendaya (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), the filly's granddam is G3 Prix d'Aumale heroine Zantenda (GB) (Zamindar).
Rounding out the top three horses on the day was Rivoli (Fr) (Dark Angel {Ire}) (lot 9). The son of Riazana (Fr) (Sinndar {Ire}) caught the eye of Success Bloodstock Agency for €42,000. Part of the Ard Erin Stud draft, the grey is well-related, being out of a full-sister to G1 Prix Marcel Boussac victress Rosanara (Fr) (Sinndar {Ire}), while sire Rajsaman (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}) is under the third dam.
A total of 55 horses went through the ring on Thursday, with 41 selling (74%) for an aggregate of €626,500. The average was €17,409 (+3.6%) and the median was €15,000 (+7%).
